Just a discussion about focusing your works within one aesthetic or working with many aesthetics but not upto the same level as the former obviously. Which way are you guys? I'd like to have created at least one piece for my favorite aesthetics and then maybe decide which I want to specialize but I'd rather be able to work with my chosen ones rather than focusing almost entirely on one. Albeit, sometimes your desire isn't always compatible with reality aka your capabilities and/or aptitude.

personally i think putting urself in a box with particular "aesthetics" or art styles is one of the worst things u can do for urself as an artist... its one thing to have consistent elements or inspirations in ur work but it becomes difficult for ur art to evolve naturally if ur constraining ur art to the same styles. that, and i think it's a bad idea to further contribute to the endless compartmentalization of art, ppl see an artists personal style and ask what "core" it is these days lol

Interesting topic!

I think I feel similarly. Especially in the context of older aesthetics or artistic/design trends, it can really difficult to create something that stays true to the original aesthetic without coming off as imitative. I think there's value in specializing in a specific aesthetic, especially as a learning opportunity, or even as a passion project. If you're the kinda guy who really, really loves to make Frutiger Aero Art Inspired By The Future We Were Promised™, what you make might come off as a little derivative. It's not big deal if you love doing it tho. But when it comes to making something special, whether that be something that pushes the envelope (whatever that means) or something that really personally excites you, I think that's where it's good to diversify

Personally, I think I like taking inspiration and diversifying lol. I find the experimentation too fun
