Hey there everyone!
Today we're announcing the latest in deskGen.net's community competitions, following the truly incredible turnout from this year's Community Poster Competition. This one's all about smileys, or as we once called 'em back in my day (that is, prior to the assassination of Franz Ferdinand), emoticons.
The rules & reward format for this one will be a little bit different from the poster competition. All winners will have their smiley added to the site, so all rewards will be equal. The full reward set is as follows:
- The winning smiley(s) will be added to the site.
- Winners will each receive 2000 forum gold & 100 Grunglecoin.
- The winners will also get an exclusive Blurb Style.
- The submission period will run until October 24th, 2024. A community vote to select the winners will commence on the following Monday, October 28th.
- All smileys must have a height of 64px. Ideally, height & width are even, like
. However... there's times where you can do something fun with a larger smiley. 
- Avoid using copyrighted materials in your submissions. Anything desktopGeneration/dG property themed or related is A-OK, but as an example, a submission featuring Kirby or Master Chief would run afoul of this rule.
- Make sure your smiley is visible on both light & dark themes. If pure white, add a black outline & vice versa.
- Each user is allowed to submit two entries to the competition.
- Unlike the poster competition, dG personnel & moderators are allowed to submit entries this time around.
