Hopoo Games (Risk of Rain, Deadbolt devs) Joins Valve

Founders and a chunk of staff are now over at Valve, an unannounced game Hopoo had in the works is cancelled, and the company is effectively no longer active. Valve didn't buy their name/brand out completely so I assume this was just a very generous set of job offers.

Oddly enough, I'm... not particularly encouraged by this news. Hopoo made some of my favorite games ever (Deadbolt is a gem and you should play it) and Valve is seemingly an infinite pit where ideas I love go to die, regardless of promise after promise to do the opposite. Anyways, what's your thoughts?

It's a shame that they sold RoR to Gearbox but at the same time, Valve has seemingly started to wake up in the recent years

Valve seems to be into the idea of making games again, surprisingly. It's a moba so it definitely requires the taste, but Deadlock is very encouraging.

I'm super excited about Valve's future game projects, especially after playing through Half Life: Alyx and hearing about the rumored Half Life 3 and Deadlock.
