Coming hot off the heels of RAM prices exploding. If you were planning to buy any consumer electronics any time soon, now might be the time. Micro Center's prebuilt PCs are still reasonably priced-ish, but the one I bought myself last week has already gone up $100...

On one hand, it seems like AI has made all electronics more expensive and worse forever and has decimated PC building as a hobby. But, on the other hand, it's also turned all art into slop and installed useless chatbot popups in every website. So who's to say if it's good or bad, really.

Really glad I bought a mac mini during black friday. Old PC was too old to run Win 11 (and I had really bad experiences with Win 11 when I used it at my job this spring) and I didn't want to spend the $500 to get a new mobo, CPU, and DDR5. guess that isn't happening!

glad to have renewed my work laptop this year just before this RAM crisis. I heard manufacturers have gone back to 8GB RAM pcs and will almost not sell 32GB RAM pcs anymore (which i need)

I got a 7800XT and 32GB of DDR4, I think I'll be fine for a while. Just praying my motherboard doesnt kill itself in the meantime, I've already had 2 USB ports fully fail.
