Hey all!

Recently my brother and I played through most of the Halo MCC co-op, and are looking for something new that scratches that itch.

If anyone knows any good co-op FPS campaigns, please throw them in this thread! <3

oooooh, now see I play too many videogames, so I'm gonna give you A List. [ also, get these games on sale lmao, Never pay full price for a digital product. also also, NO LIVESERVICES HERE!!!! ]

"The Peak of The Mountain."

- there can only be one king, and that crown was given a long time ago. and that is
Left 4 Dead 2. [ it LITERALLY doesn't get better than this. omg. I've sunk disgusting hours into this with friends. ]

"Traditional Campaigns"
- like Halo MCC, these one's follow the traditional story structure while allowing you to play with a friend.
every Far Cry released after 3. [ like, literally, every single one supports co-op. try out 5. ]
Dying Light. [ oof, this one's peak. maybeee don't touch 2 or The Beast, cause it's a little downhill after the first. only a little. ]
Borderlands 2, The Pre-Sequel, and Wonderlands. [ it's freakin borderlands dude. you know what's up ]
Dead Island 1 & Riptide [ get some of that seventh gen goodness, yeaaaa ]
Portal 2. [ technically a shooter. definitely first person. sounds good enough to me! ]

"aw ew a story mann just give me a gun and something to shoot!"
- no frills shooters with exceedingly excellent gunplay. [ allergen warning: contains roguelikes ]
Prodeus [ a classic boomer shooter made in 2022. it's peam ]
Echo Point Nova [ an open-world fps with unreal amounts of freedom and even better gunplay. you don't get an Overwhelmingly Positive review score NOT being the best. ]
Roboquest [ roguelike one -- it's fast, it's fun! shoot robots! yippee! ]
Gunfire Reborn [ roguelike two -- a pinch more RPG, but just as good as roboquest. either or, honestly. ]

"co-op GRINDHOUSES"
- wanna just boot up a match or mappack and get to goring any group of poor sods put in front of you? check these out!
Vermintide 2 [ get this on sale, and no other time. "like left 4 dead, but melee! and warhammer!" ]
Killing Floor 1 & 2 [ for your own sanity, a 3rd game does not exist. ]
Deep Rock Galactic [ it's DRG. technically a live service game but... it's just SO much better than that label deserves. also, everything live service about it is FREE!!! ]
the Serious Sam Series [ just pick one and go nuts, they're all p good picks ngl ]

"Tactical Trials"
- are you and your brother deeply uncoordinated? then it's time to lock in!
GTFO [ a slow stealth horror horde shooter with more than enough boot to kick your teeth in. it's a gamer ass game lmao ]
Ready or Not [ a SWAT fps with some serious ass shoes dude. seriously. ]
The Outlast Trials. [ it's outlast... but multiplayer... woah. not really a shooter but this section of this half assed list is REALLY underdev'd, people just don't make tactical games "fun" anymore lmao ]

uhh and that's the end of the list loole

split fiction and it takes two are also good options but they are campaigns and not fps games. good thing about them is that they have a friend pass - one person buys the game, other person downloads the friend pass version without needing to buy the game. bad thing about them though is you need to use EAs launcher eughh.. havent gotten around to playing them myself but i want to with a friend at some point
vouch for l4d2, esp if its heavily modded cause i did a playthrough of it with a friend with a shit ton of mods and it was one of the most overwhelming and chaotic experiences in a videojame
the long drive and rounds (neither are shooters) are not really campaigns and something you play every now and then. rounds modded is fun and chaotic as hell but the base game gets stale fast so yeah do mods
theres games like repo and lethal but those arent really campaigns at all
zeroranger has a coop option but thats a shmup no clue if thats something youd be down to do but its an option, game bangs
theres also reanimal which recently released but the main issue with it is is that its around 4 hours of playtime for 40 bucks, also has a friend pass but yeah prob wanna get it on a sale
gtfo is... man i need a group for gtfo the game is fun but you really need to find people who actually want to play it and progress through it cause its hard as balls
theres also archipelago aka people playing completely different games but progressing each other by going through your own game, which has a huge amount of playthroughs you can do with various different games. drg is one of the games supported, also heavy vouch for drg amazing game
theres a friend whos really into outlast trials but idk if i wanna get it but ill see if it gets a big enough sale

but yeah i also really need more coop games to play with a friend and were having a hard time finding them

I came in here to recommend games, and I see that everything I would have suggested is already in this comment: L4D2, Dying Light, Gunfire Reborn, the Killing Floors AND saying don't get the 3rd one, all of it and more.
