What forums did you used to browse? I used to spend quite a a bit of time on taconbanana in late 2000s and early 2010s.

I was huge on Mcleodgaming for most of the 2010s. The Fusionfall forums in 2007 were my first experience, though.

the only forum experience i can say i really had was the one for the game Toribash. you had to make the account you'd use for the game through the forum, so no matter what, you were gonna be exposed to it. it was a nice place while it lasted (it still exists, it's just not like it was years ago)

I was a regular addict of the Lego Message Boards from 2012-2017 (when it closed). For anyone who wasn't there, it was basically tumblr style humor and vibes but with strict moderation. Being on there for so long is a big reason why I really enjoy hanging out here these days.

the Sonic Robo Blast 2 message boards, though I was mostly there for the mods LOL. got a huuuge upgrade from vBullettin to Xenforo around 2022 but theres something about the old forums look that i sort of miss (new system is a thousand times better tho)

fusion fall forums, initial d world, tokyo xtreme racer forums (specifically for drift2) but mostly zilvia, which might be one of the most volatile internet spaces i've been in. wonderful times.

My biggest two was the Guild Wars 2 forums and GameFAQs. I didn't really post. I've never really felt like I could contribute much, but I enjoy lurking and reading up on things that interest me.

I had brief stints with a lot of other places (Newgrounds, Something Awful, Byond for Space Station 13 to name a few), but given that I barely interact as it is now, I wouldn't stay very long.

Tbh this is the first forum site I've actually stuck around on, but I was on a fictionfolk Dreamwidth for a little while at one point. Made a few posts there. Idk if it's even still around or not.

My intro to forum communities was through GameFAQs like 2004-2009, lots of tight knit groups that formed around games then built a community absolutely not about the game. I was on OffTopic for a little while late 2000s, then early 2010s kind of only touched a few roleplaying message boards.

quite literally only mcleodgaming and even then i did the same thing i do here: hardly interact with what its primary focus is and spam up the music section because it's like the one thing i know. i don't think i ever made an account somewhere else, I'd usually just lurk

rpgmaker forums, and there was a forum I used to interact in back in 2014-2015, but i think that's one of those things best left to be buried under the sands of time...
those were probably my only real experience with forums. my english when younger than that would have not been sufficient to join a forum and my computer access was rather limited


do you count the old youtube channel comments as forums? lol
