outer ring: various favorites between... well, indie rock, MF DOOM, and stromae. no i'm not sure what's going on here either
inner ring: favorite albums from Hippo Campus, which... yeah, is just about all of them. i'm normal
innermost: Passenger, my favorite song, period

My list (at least right now) is pretty chaotic, but I mostly stand by it. Indie rock, ambient, dubstep, etc. It's got stuff I've been listening to for 15 years (owl city, relient k) and stuff that only came out a couple years ago. I was definitely surprised by the number of EPs that made it, but skybreak, infekt, convexity and good kid haven't released LPs yet and I listen to them constantly.

I might come back and refine this later, but this is a pretty good snapshot of seminal albums in my life, albums I know pretty much every word to, etc.

top 25 all time. kept it 1 per band because there'd be several coheed, mwY, ETID and AFI albums that would probably fill out most of the chart. also king crimson doesn't appear to be on this database at all, probably for the same reason they don't show up on last fm charts or whatever, or else I'd be putting Discipline in here probably just after Kyuss.

if anyone's curious, here's everything I've handed out a 5* rating to that didn't make the cut. honestly not as hard to make as you'd expect; I've been seeing several variations of more or less the same chart forever, because even if there's something I REALLY REALLY love, it takes a lot to dethrone any of these records.

Funnily enough, I was just thinking of starting a topster thread the other day but for games lol

Here's mine, I tried my best ordering it with my absolute favorites at the top, and then goin down from there. There's honestly very few albums where I love a majority of the songs in them, so my decision making here was mostly just vibes based. Cheers to You is there at the bottom to fill space lmao, I was having a hard time picking favorites. I had fun doing this though :)

excellent Erra picks. augment has been in my rotation since it dropped in 2013 and the self titled is like easily the best thing they've done since that, nearly flawless records tbh

Not listed in a particular order, though I am willing to say the top 5 are probably my top 5 of all time. Stuck to listing only one album per group, for some like Devin Townsend I folded all of his projects into one for that categorizing.

nuts death cab pick but i respect it. i thought about putting Dirt in mine right near the end but Elil (really, the FoE discog) and Orpheus were so huge in getting me to branch out and try/appreciate new stuff that I couldn't think of not including them. one day I'll do a reaaaal meticulous top 50 and really get this sorted out

I Will Possess Your Heart is for sure one of their best tracks. its probably a toss up between photo album and transatlanticism (very unique, riveting opinion) for me but tbh it HAS kind of been a while since I've given most of their stuff a good full listen so maybe it's time

yeppp, agreed. I discovered Erra with self titled, then i was really obsessed with Cure when it came out (and i still think Cure is an awesome record, really different from what they've done before, but incredible nonetheless), so i decided to check out all of their older albums. Augment quickly became my favourite metal album ever. I also really enjoyed Neon, even though i see a lot of hate for it online.

also, their collab with PhaseOne is criminally underrated.

i don't think Erra have done anything i'd call outright bad but I'm afraid i do kind of fall into the camp of "neon and cure are just ok". but my favourite thing by them is actually the Andromeda EP so take anything I say about them with a firm grain of contrarian salt. misery signals are likely my favourite metalcore band of all time (please don't make me choose) and a lot of their early stuff was really influenced by them so i kind of just gravitate to those most when I feel like listening to Erra

Mine is in no particular order, aside from the last 4 being OSTs for games (I know the VotV soundtrack is more ambience than music, I just enjoy it a lot). Also limited myself to one per artist/band; otherwise, it'd just be: Oops! All Alice in Chains (and Hungry Lights).

SH3 ost is an all timer for sure, if I were just picking one from the series it'd be that

Themed Topster: Every release I am aware of that showcases 704 W High Street in Urbana IL on the cover
Captain Jazz maybe the funniest band of all time

I've already posted mine a few weeks ago on my profile but whatever
Probably would replace something here with a Kardashev album but too lazy to re-edit all of it
