So far what we know is this:
-The director is Wes Ball (previously worked on the Maze Runner movies)
-Live action (I would have much preferred a Studio Ghibli-like studio to animate the movie but oh well)
-Writer is Derek Connolly (worked on the Jurassic World trilogy and Detective Pikachu)
-Wes Ball is envisioning a "Studio Ghibli aesthetic for the film" (according to the IMDB page)
-Avi Arad's Production company is developing the movie (the Sony guy that's made all of the Spider-Man villain films such as Venom, Morbius, and the Uncharted movie from a few years ago - Arad also was a major reason why Venom was forced into Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man 3)

Personally I've skeptical about this adaptation. Avi Arad and Sony have a mixed track record, especially when it comes to the Spider-Man villain films (anyone remember Madame Web?). According to Nintendo, Miyamoto is heavily involved with this adaptation, so the quality could be good with him breathing down Sony's necks. Knowing how safe Miyamoto played with the Super Mario Bros. Movie, and knowing how much involvement he has in this film (Zelda is his darling), I'm expecting a safe and simple adaptation of Ocarina of Time's (or Breath of the Wild) story with a few references to other Nintendo stuff / Zelda games thrown in the mix. On the contrary, it could also be an original story that hits all of the common Zelda tropes (Triforce, Master Sword, Seven Sages, etc.).
But what do you guys think? Do you have any predictions/expectations for the upcoming Zelda movie?
