I did not expect Nintendo to endear me to a webcam LOL.

A lot that I'm questionable on (like ok - is the $80 game price just for ones you'll be able to share with other consoles? will the UI have themes or are we stuck with bland blah again?) but overall an incredibly strong showing. imo, Nintendo's still able to be creative without entirely tanking their console in a sequel format (h-hi Wii U).

if the main ui doesn't have themes i WILL cry. it's not like they've never done it before, the 3ds had PLENTY and they could SO make extra money off of special themed ones if they REALLY wanted to (or just attach like limited time reward ones to the online subscription like they do with profile icons and stuff).

i also SINCERELY hope that $80 is Specifically for the games that you can share. they all look fleshed out and the way they're describing it is the ability to share The Entire Game in order to play it rather than a DS Download Play situation where it was just a specific mode of the game.

also i know they probably won't because it'd be an INSANELY easy way to homebrew, but mouse controls SO beg to be used in a regular browser setting.

Imo, GameShare might’ve been the best/my favorite announcement during the direct lol. There’s a handful of games that I’ve considered picking up to play with friends, but ended up feeling less incentivized if it meant I had to convince my friends to buy the game too

But honestly, everything else has me either feeling whelmed to “bleh”. But I’ll hold my tongue lol. I don’t want to be a negative nancy. ($80 games is some wacko shit though man what the hell)

Also interested to see that Mario Kart direct later this month. I expected that I’m still probably gonna return to 8 every once in a while for the more traditional experience depending on how Worlds shapes out, but I’m okay with that tbh. I was MAYBE considering trying to get a Switch 2 at launch depending on what they’d announce today, but imo, I’m probably just gonna wait till more of my current switch library gets confirmed to be updated. Overall, lots of cool stuff. But yeah, lots of questions too

mario kart and DK look awesome but look. I know some people love Air Ride, but it isn't a big show-ender, I'm sorry. (edit: i got the order mixed up in my head. whoops. i will leave the evidence of me being dumb here.) and that was it for major first party stuff? and then everything we learn afterwords about pricing and shit just sounds worse and worse

I'll still get one at launch if I can - the console itself is actually reasonably priced in the UK - but they sure need to do a lot better than this

New Zelda Warriors

looks good, but I still haven't finished the last one they released...

We'll see if I pick it up at launch, realistically it'll be a mariokart-only machine for me until Splatoon 4 or Animal Crossing comes out, and $450 US is steeeep though the specs look pretty sick.

Silksong. I have waited so long to hear anything new about it, that now I sincerely don't know how to feel. But I'm super excited, can't believe It will be out this year.

The new Switch looks good, but the $80 game price tag sounds apocalyptic to me ngl. No Switch 2 for me, at least while I'm still beating MHGU on my good old Switch Lite

shit's insane but i think i'm gonna sit this one out, the mouse gimmick is cool but things are honestly looking a tiny bit underwhelming
Weirdly enough, seeing the third-party trailers is what truly tied me in. still crazy to me seeing graphics like that come out of a nintendo console... Also feels weird to have them acknowledge actual stats like, 120fps, hdr, 4k...
