the day after I passed inspection, I drove to work, car felt fine. was driving away from work and something was wrong. the power delivery was really weird and my turbos sounded like a jet engine (it sounded fucking awesome btw), I had no idea what was going on. my very first thought was that there was a boost leak, however there was no check engine light, but these engines *do* typically wait a bit before throwing a boost leak code.
when I did the radiator, I did pull the intercooler + charge pipe out for ease of access. so I was thinking that one of the clamps wasn't on properly and I was getting a leak somewhere.
today I opened the hood to investigate and found that I had somehow completely blown off one of the intercooler hoses, insane that I managed that considering I drive like a grandpa 😭.
anyway I fixed the clamp this afternoon and took it for a drive, feels healthier. will report back though.
small updates
oil change soon, was going to do it tomorrow but it looks like its raining heavy for my next 2 days off (my brothers rolling shell subaru has stolen the garage so it will be done outside)
got it some nice oil :) heard this stuff tastes good
ive been thinking about getting a front lip for my car but not sure if it'll 100% fit the vibe. the main reason i want it is to actually protect the underside of my front bumper + it looks kinda cool.
these are usually sold as "arkym style" front lips, they're the best looking style imo, fairly minimal and fit very flush with the front bumper.think i'll also go with a gloss black rather than the fake carbon ones, mainly for price + i'm hoping it'll look paint matched.
imo with most front lips its very easy to start looking like a ricer and just completely ruin the car.
Funny if you're doing a full commit, but on subtle setups often it just looks out of place.
I do think you've got the best option with that 3rd image though, praying for you the paint matches.
this is exactly my thought, i'm hoping the black on black will look subtle and wont look like some ebay special. its funny how i want a mod like this for protection reasons lmaoo, i'd rather scratch a $120aud front lip compared to a $1000+ original front bumper.
its actually kind of hard to find photos of this lip on a black pre-facelift E92, then when you DO it'll have some horrible ebay headlight rings or something. less is more guys.
