I've been playing the game lately and its a very fun time! It reminds me of 3d Mario games like Galaxy and Odyssey. I wanted to know what other people thought of the game as well.
got the Platinum today. great game but every time it goes "look, it's that cool thing you recognise" it's hard not to feel a little depressed when it's a dead IP and/or there's no (good) way to play it on a modern platform. maybe there's just too much sourness in my heart after Sony announced a $700 console with no disc drive, idk
still 100% worth playing though and I really hope the team gets to revive one of those dead IPs or something for their next game
As great as it is, it feels bittersweet to me. It's like looking into a window of an alternate universe where Playstation is cool. The costume selection room is like a Greatest Hits album of my favorite long-dead Sony IPs
And it drives me insane that the cosplay bots don't even get so much as a Smash Bros-esque trophy description. Surely they should understand what a good way that would be to drive some interest in these dead brands? Just a quick "this thing is called Gravity Rush, you can flip the gravity around to fall in any direction, there are cute girls in it" and people will go try the game on PS+ and maybe buy a sequel/reboot/remaster, right? This kind of shit drives me extra insane because Sony is sitting on an absolute treasure trove of golden game series that are being ignored in favor of remastering fucking Horizon again. I promise if you make a mid-budget Ape Escape or Wipeout or Gravity Rush or MediEvil or Jak or Parappa or Jumping Flash or something people will come out for it
Anyway. The game itself is really good though. Some absolutely top notch level design, I only wish it could be a bit longer lol. Looking forward to revisiting when they patch in time trials
