Question Why are embeds suddenly so bad?

I use both Imgbb and Imgur to host my images, and a lot of the times now they result with some images giving me a red X instead of my awesome images that I dump on their servers. I really don't understand, it used to work just fine, the images work fine on those websites too

Imgur redirects all direct links to the page of the image instead, in an effort to boost their social interactions & kill traditional hotlinking. To embed from them you need to use a media embed - going to imagine imgbb is attempting something similar, though afaik we don't have built-in support for their branded embed platform.

Is there anywhere I can host images that wont break embeds?

https://postimages.org/ has been my choice for a while now. Hasn't done me wrong yet.

trying to embed them and i get stuck in an infinite loop with deskgen trying to load them...
