[BUILD THREAD] My AE86 Corolla GT-S Hatchback.

The two tone blue is what I'd do personally, but the logistics make it difficult.

Black is pretty slick, though i'm always wary of dark cars thanks to summer heat, though that may be mostly due to my daily driver prius having trash AC

for solid colors, i'd put my vote on black. i really love the unified color across the whole body, really making it look like something worth showing off. and from what i gather, that's partially your intent! ride it and be proud!

for mixed on the other hand, assuming it's possible, the UKDM light/dark gray just calls to me. i dunno if it's because i get BTTF vibes from it, or just because that color mix on this shape of a car simply feels right, but that's gotta be my top choice for sure. the High Sonic Toning also looks quite slick, but i'm not 100% sure the image provided there does it enough justice. i'd probably have to see a bit more of it to be confident in that as a vote

high sonic toning is hard to capture in photos, but its a wonderful black/silver two tone only offered on high end models (i believe). here it is on a LEVIN front AE86, which features hard lights instead of flip ups. It's a fantastic color if done correctly.

The light/grey dark grey is so cool. A great alternative to the usual, high contrast two tones that exist (i.e. the standard panda color). I believe maybe it also made it to the US, but I definitely see it more on the UK-spec models. I figure it could be cool to see those colors on a car with more aggressive styling (low, deep wheels, like my previous build).
also holy shit i've never seen someone drift an AE86 before. i really know nothing about cars
we all gotta start somewhere! might be first time i have heard this, though.. hahaha. you're at the fun part! Getting into it now with the ease of access to the information-- the world is your oyster! enjoy the rabbit hole! the sport of drifting can attribute most of it's popularity to the AE86 and Keiichi Tsuchiya. Of course, these cars are fantastic for grip racing too, but drift culture and initial d is what made it a global icon. The AE86 has so, so, soo much cool history all over the world, which is one of the reasons I think they're so interesting. And despite the extreme modifications people have done with them ever since, the OG's had it right: simple is best!

the two-tone blue even looks good on the coupes! so lovely, and very unique. if i knew any 86 specialists close by, this color would score much higher on my list...

very good point on the black + summer combo. my AC is not reliable in the car either, but it wouldn't be my daily, so must weigh the odds.. these california summers are getting brutal, but is it worth it? hmmm
