yesterday i heard the song "Float On" by Modest Mouse for the first time in like, years. and years. i really, really like its vibe. like a lot. i've recently been getting into that kind of 2000's, sometimes melancholic, usually rock kind of vibe.
some examples of other songs in the same kind of thing that i'm talking about are like, Time to Pretend by MGMT, The Golden Path by The Chemical Brothers & The Flaming Lips (my dad recently showed me this one and i kinda loved it), Sleepyhead by Passion Pit (kind of), Eat That Up, It's Good For You by Two Door Cinema Club, and probably a few more that I can't remember.
so, like.. does anyone have more of this. i need more. i crave more. i need more of this, like, really really specific vibe. i'm kind of praying that im conveying this as well as i can, because i really dont have the words for it otherwise. though it definitely would make sense if this came off as like, really non-sensical. i dunno, i can't make you feel my own nostalgia, but any attempts are very, very, very very appreciated

I think I might be able to help out. I'll list some songs I know with links to YouTube videos that you might be interested in. If none of these do the trick, I can try to find others that could, just let me know:

Even Rats by The Slip
Drops of Jupiter by Train
& by Tally Hall
Digital Bath by Deftones
On Melancholy Hill by Gorillaz
Sky Is Over by Serj Tankian

hard to answer because i don't know what other rock music you've heard
most of that early 2000s radio-indie-whatever was nostalgic over 70s/80s post-punk/new wave/jangle pop, so much so that johnny marr from the smiths was a member of modest mouse for one album cycle
and that entire wave of rock is fairly well represented in terms of music discussion on and offline so i fear some of my recs might be too obvious. lol
