Thinking of getting an mp3 player but on a low budget since ipod classics in the 80GB+ range are priced high. Would like something that's just as visually well designed, as well as functional including a decent UI. Pertaining memory I'm thinking maybe going for the sd card option opens you up to more options? I used to have an iPod Classic 5.5 until last year so would like to eventaully go back to using an iPod.
ive been using an old lg g6 thinq i stole from my grandma as my 'ipod' for a while now and its pretty awesome. i slimmed down the stock rom using adb and installed whatever else i wanted. its got a great dac, aux port, sd card slot, and still is 'smart' though i just keep it on airplane mode. i slapped a 512g card in here since all my stuff is flac lol.
as for the ui, i use a barebones launcher that essentially has no ui. you just swipe up on the screen and it launches the music player and thats all the ui there is- and there are hundreds of android players to choose from.
not the sexiest mp3 player, but it works and its great. i know similar lg models offer the same stuff, maybe you could find one cheap- or even some other old android with all that.
