Recommend Anything

I recommend having either an outdoor hobby or a form of exercise, to promote healthier living. Running, working out/weightlifting, fishing, birdwatching, hiking, etc. Anything that either gets the heart pumping or you out in the world. I personally love to fish and weightlift.

Fishing, even if I don't catch anything is nice, I get to experience the outside at early and late times of day and I appreciate the world for how it looks, seeing the beauty in nature up close. It's my favorite thing I inherited from my late grandpa, his love for the outdoors. I only catch what I eat, and I never take more than necessary. I also apologize to and thank the fish before I kill it humanely. I like to give each a few naturalistic words before I go through with it.

I weightlift so I can be healthier and get stronger to protect the ones I care about. It's pretty fun, seeing yourself get stronger as the days pass. Both of these activities are revitalizing and good for the brain. One gets me in nature to appreciate the world around me, the other gets me physical and allows me to challenge myself in a different way than usual. I can't recommend doing one or the other enough. Both actively make me a better person than I was the day before, and this would remain true even if they were different activities.

Oh man, this.

Before Covid hit, I used to go to the gym and went swimming on the weekends. It was a very hard time mentally, but like some kind of magic, every time I went to train\swim, I felt so much better. This period of my life feels really special and warm even today.

It's a funny coincidence, but just a few hours ago I found my old training log and thought about getting back to it. Thank you for this message, now I'm more than motivated hehe.

Anything offline will do the job if you're main hobby\work requires you to spend enormous time on a computer. Last year I tried running\photography, and it improved the quality of my life so much!

My highest recommendation to anyone out there is to buy clothes online and on second hand websites.

If you are in europe - Vinted, Vestiaire Collective, depop (US too), ebay, and others

If you are in US - TheRealReal, depop, poshmark, ebay, grailed, and some others

If you still prefer it new (which there is no difference between old and new except the fabric getting softer and loosing a bit of color, no bacteria carryover and stuff like that) - then buy stuff in high fashion outlets where majority of stuff is marked down 70-80% (YOOX, Glamood, TK MAXX)

The amount of good vintage which people sell cause they don't know what they are selling is astronomical, not counting the fact that it will last you longer and will look better on you.
If you are so worried about the sizing, buy a tape ruler and measure the core spots on the garment so you never need to worry about it again.
(Check attaches files to see what I mean)

Buying a jacket slightly bigger is also alright, its just going to fit slightly roomier, and its not going to make you look sloppy or bad.
Same applies to trousers, you can always just get a belt and wear an oversized t shirt if you don't want to show the scrunched waistline.

Important (to me at least) note: If you are into a specific style of fashion, you might be able to find specific sites for said fashion, both new and second hand. I admit I'm primarily speaking from experience with Japanese Lolita fashion. There's a massive community there and it's very helpful, actively telling you what sites are trustworthy and what ones are scams. I personally go for new stuff instead of second hand but I also support indie brands through the website 42Lolita.

I would like to recommend that people read the "Remembrance of Earth's Past" series by Cixin Liu. It's three books, starting with "The Three Body Problem", followed by "The Dark Forest" and "Death's End".

Fantastic sci-fi series that doesn't shit the bed by revealing too much about aliens and focuses far more strongly on humanity and it's reaction to situations, one of the best things I've ever read. Audiobooks are available too!

Most of the time people dislike w3schools (me included) because their reference html/css/js documentation is totally not up to date with the current state of the web technologies. The fact that they rank higher in search results than MDN Web Docs which is the trusted source to go with the most complete and latest documentation doesn't help at all.
If you have any? Got other recommendations other than w3schools then?
