seen a good movie recently?

recently watched godzilla minus one for the first time
i liked it
ive seen the praise for it online and i cant help but feel its a little overrated
or is that just because its rare for the human story/characters to be done well in a monster film?
any other godzilla film recommendations that someone could add are welcome as i feel like checking out some more...
the only other monster film ive seen is kong skull island which i also liked

yeah, Godzilla vs Kong was the movie right before it and Godzilla x Kong was the movie right after it and both of those are 100% Big Dumb Fun Monster Fight Movies, so the massive praise is kinda through that lens

I remember liking Shin Godzilla but it's been a while since I've seen it. haven't seen any of the other Japanese Godzilla films. here's where I say "I should do that" and then end up not doing that lol

I saw Godzilla Minus One and Shin Godzilla on a date recently, LOVED Shin Godzilla, amazing visuals, and I really enjoyed the commentary, it was almost a comedy at times but it was really good.

The last movie I watched was Twisters sometime when it was in theaters this summer. My parents really wanted to see it (seeing as my dad works in weather that makes sense), so I went along since I was in town.

Absolutely blew me away. Maybe I was just expecting another marvelified box-office cash grab (Especially since it's a sequel/reboot hybrid to a beloved older flick), but it was really good! It made me want to go watch more movies again (which hasn't happened since I've been busy -_-)

def recommend to anyone who wants a moderately suspenseful movie that's still a pretty fun chill time (somehow those two things combine and I don't quite know how)

My local Walmart has a deal where you can buy $5 movies from a bin of DVDs. I bought Pulp Fiction, Free Guy and Little Shop of Horrors (1986). Little Shop of Horrors was great, especially if you love musicals like I do.

I've seen it before, but I rewatched Inglorious Basterds the other day & it's such a great one

Or maybe I'm just really in the mood to watch nazis get fucked rn

saw interstellar last night
wow what a great film
might be one of nolans best... definitely in his top 3
beautiful visuals and a compelling emotional story
makes me want to go back in time to pick physics as my major.....

I watched Good Will Hunting for the first time a month and a half ago, and honestly it kinda hit home with me a bit
I definitely watched it at the right time, I paused the movie halfway because I was so fired up about it that I wanted to organize my thoughts out loud

ChainsawMan: Reze Arc (2025)
Alright! Maybe it's because I'm a bit of a fanboy, but the adaption for this arc have been executed so beautifully!!! The music has been so memorizing, personally for me? Music and sound design is important when telling a story! >:3 (That and of course acting) But with sound? I can't really describe it but it really captures your soul and mind when something you seen on pages be turned into pure art (As if the manga panels weren't pure art to begin with ;3)
They really captured Reze fight in a way I never even seen from the manga counterpart itself! The colors were so bright, used in ways to really show the emotions and settings for Denji, Reze, and Aki!
I would discuss more but I really don't want to spoil anything! But as a big fan of chainsaw man? I personally think this is 9/10 >;3

the reze movie was so good I straight up went and re-read all of part 1 immediately after. then i went back to watch it a second time at a different theatre. it's a perfect adaptation and the small changes or additional details were so good I honestly didn't realize they were movie exclusive until I went back. it's just so clearly made with love and reverence for the source material that I can't imagine anyone finding something to dislike about it, it's got me geeking about csm as if I just discovered it all over again

Agree! I was already expecting a lot form the film but it blew my expectations out of the water! They did my fave panel so well ToT

i watched helter skelter 2012. beautiful film, in spite of the monologuing that happens. i think it suited the atmosphere, actually, even if the message was a bit forward. the in-your-face visuals, trippy aesthetics and open ending is so good everytime. might rewatch it soon.
