So I had to buy a new router today...

...and I'm really, really annoyed. Back during lockdown I bought my current router and bought a really nice higher end TP-Link model during a sale. 3.5 years later and this thing's just burned itself out. The router before it (which was like... $30-40 or something, and I think that was a sale too) lasted about the same amount of time, also TP-Link. My dad bought a little purple LinkSys router for $50 in 2006 and that lasted a decade. I don't know if I should blame forced obsolescence for this or what, but I'm annoyed. Nothing lasts anymore at all.

I replaced my router, Ethernet cables, AND modem today. I’m now up to date on everything and getting speeds that are 4 times faster than what I had. Feels good.
