How’s today going?

So sorry :~(
 
Lots of stuff changing lately. At the end of one day job and beginning of another, moving up in the world somewhat in the process. I get to run a movie theatre now (which I should specify. I’m the manager, so I run operations, there’s still a director above me doing booking and handling the Hollywood calls). Been really really beatin me down as I finish out the chef job but I’ve got five shifts left counting today. Crazy to be that close to the end of a chapter in my life.
 
Woke up this morning to being nearly deaf in my left ear. Very inconvenient and annoying lol. I’ve had lifelong issues with my ears and earwax. Last time I saw an ENT (many years ago), I was informed it was apparently because my ear canals have a fucked up, very abnormal shape. So every few years, I inevitably end up having some sort of earwax related issue. Apparently, I’ve failed every hearing test I took when I was younger lol. May or may not be related… I might just have slightly subpar hearing…

Been trying my best to treat it myself rn, which has been helping a little bit. But hopefully I can get it actually treated soon, I’m probably due for an appointment. I’ve had a dull tinnitus in my other ear for a while that may or may not be related. For now though, just continuing with daily life but now with temporary hearing loss

(And no, believe or not there is actually no connection between my choice of username and this lifelong earwax curse. It’s just a cruel, cruel coincidence)
 
It was a great sunny day. Went exploring and doing some BULLSHIT in the forest with my girlfriend. Climbed some trees and photographed some goats. Need to do that again someday.

Feeling incredibly fulfilled today. Busy, busy, *busy* day at the movie theatre but it went without a hitch. People seem to be very happy with what I'm doing to the place and that leaves me feeling really happy, just in general. Went out for a nice Sunday dinner afterwards and that left me equally satisfied.

All in all, pretty great week. Now I brace myself for three shows (and seeing most of US dG again!!!!!!!) over the next few weeks. :~)
 
sure do love staying up late til 4am for a fucking math exam :)
and then i have 2 more exams in a row after that :)
with extra periods on 3 out of 5 days every week being used for finals preparations extending the time i spend in school
:) :)

this year is gonna suck bruh how tf did yall deal with 4th grade highschool
 
Overall quite alright!
Nothing much of anything has been happening except us finishing 2 samples for one small Instagram brand and trying to prepare some of our stuff for sale hopefully (but thats not really a today'''s thing but more of a in general what has been kinda happening in the past few months).

Also drawing the webcomic and finishing my MASTER THESIS which am writing on a relatively cool topic which noone in my field even considered before, so I have potential to publish it later and already got support from one professor who wishes to help me to edit it for journal publishing.

There are some bad stuff too, but I don'''t tackle whats outside of my control!
 
got off the phone with financial aid at uni to figure out what i'm supposed to about all the student govt. loans i took on by mistake, having basically been instructed to do so since i didn't know any better and was just doing what it seemed like i was being told

they said "yep not our problem anymore lol sorry nerd"

today went well generally. i finished an art for a thing and submitted a thing for another thing. i have been sleeping better than other times and i look forward to doing more things for other things tomorrow
 
Today I was originally going to spend the day at home working on stuff but I decided to go on a walk and get breakfast, which ended up being probably one of THE breakfast sandwiches of all time, seriously it was so good.

Rather than walking home thereafter, I’d chosen to browse the area, and there was a
Place nearby called “The Insect Asylum” which I’d been told about before. Notably, I’d been told there was an opossum there. I can confirm there was, her name was Opal, and I got to pet her and she was very sweet. I also got to hold a leopard gecko and TWO stickbugs, and spectate several other cute critters. Hit a used book and CD store after that, then bought some skincare supplies at TJ Maxx.

Pretty solid day. I’ll probably work on stuff for real now.
 
This night I had the opportunity to walk through my town during the curfew and a complete power blackout. One of the most surreal and weirdly relaxing experiences in my life, and I will never forgive myself for leaving my camera at home.

Imagine the busiest, noisiest, and brightest street in your city, but with no one there, absolute silence, and the only light visible is the stars in the sky. You don’t even see the streets and the buildings anymore, you can't recognise anything - you surrounded by a strangely shaped darkness that blocks the night sky, the only thing that your eyes can see and process. The light pollution is so low now that I can see that some small part of the horizon is colored in a warm bright light - it’s a city 40 miles from my town.

Without a flashlight, it’s impossible to tell that you’re walking on a street of a human settlement, and when you turn it on, it still feels weird, like you're in the middle of a big ass cave, exploring the remnants of some ancient civilization. It’s pretty cold out here, so no crickets, almost no noise at all, just your footsteps that become almost too loud from all this thick silence.

Damn, it felt so aura I can't even describe it.

city outskirts at 2 in the morning, 3 am the night crowd start to pop up around here but like the 0000 to 0200 timeframe is when its dead quiet over here.
its beautiful.
