Hello, my name is Kenneth, I am 23 years old, and I make retro software demos for all sorts of old hardware like the PS1/PSX, Sega Dreamcast, MS-DOS/PC-DOS/DR-DOS, Playstation 2, Sega Genesis and Symbian phones (J2ME apps for old cellphones). I am also an artist (or I think I am) but you can check out some of my stuff right here:
The cara portfolio
Also I tend to talk quite a lot about very boring things, if you are interested in any in reading any of it, you can find them
here
My favourite video game franchise is the Yakuza franchise(RYU GA GOTOKU games), surprisingly, I have met a lot of people who are not aware of these games.
I am currently making a 3D game engine for the MS-DOS and I hope I finish it before December.
List of stuff to do:
- Join and compete in a game jam for once, I keep not competing because I always think I am inadequate lol
- Make a proper retro game on whatever system I am interested in
- Learn how to make a CPU (all the way from logic gates)
- Make a raytracer on the MS-DOS and the dreamcast (maybe the PS2)
- Properly learn some 8086 assembly
- Learn some maths again, I was shit at it when I was much younger, it would be nice to see if I can do better at my age
- Learn how to draw (nothing too crazy, I want to get better at making doodles)
- Learn some Advanced C++ (even though I hate it) and make fractals with it
- Make an OS from scratch
- Make a programming language from scratch
- Properly learn Shaders, especially with the Godot Shading language
- Continue learning legacy OpenGL (I don't want to mess with modern OpenGl lol)
- Make a nice art portfolio website, something simple but nice to look at
- Learn some Pascal/Object Pascal, for some retro art projects
- Will add more over time, I want to learn everything I can get my hands on
If you were able to read everything, thank you
Kenneth.
